Resources Re-Imagined
Overview
BankSupplies is a leading supplier of banking, financial institution, and cash-handling products. While the ecommerce site offered a large product catalog, there was an opportunity to create a centralized content hub that would support customers during research and product selection.
The Challenge
At BankSupplies we serve highly specialized audiences, including banks, credit unions, and casinos. Many of these customers and potential customers start their journey with informational searches rather than product searches.
- How to choose a cash counter
- Bank security supplies
- Coin wrapper guide
- Cash-handling best practices
Without educational content addressing these topics, valuable organic traffic opportunities would be lost to competitors and industry publications.
The Solution: Create a Content Hub Around Customer Needs
The Resource Center was designed as a knowledge hub containing multiple content formats that serve users at different stages of the buying journey.
Product Buying Guides
These resources help customers evaluate solutions before making a purchase.
- Currency counter information
- Bill-straps guide
- Tamper-evident bags
Industry Articles and Educational Resources
The hub contains informational content addressing operational challenges faced by financial institutions.
- Do I need a printer with my currency counter?
- Counterfeit: Are you prepared?
Content Architecture Strategy
When visioning the resources page with the Marketing Director, we spoke about having one main content page and having other category specific hubs. We decided the main page would branch off into these categories:
Additionally, I wanted to create a strong internal linking structure that helps search engines understand topical relationships across the site. The content hub acts as a central authority page that connects educational articles, product categories, downloadable resources, catalog content, and related solutions.
User Interface Design
After doing some browsing of other resources and content hubs to get a feel for what users would expect, I started designing in Figma. There were four main sections initially:
- Hero
- Featured Resources
- All Resources
- Help
Below are the Figma files, you can also see a preview on Figma.
Original design of the HERO in Figma.
Original design of the "Featured Resources" section.
Original design of the "All Resources" section.
Original design of the "Support" section.
Once I had the Figma designs approved, I moved on to putting the design into the CMS pages in Magento and aligning the site with the BankSupplies style guide.
Final User Interface Design
In putting the design into the site I also added categories between Featured Resources and All Resources. The categories have a similar style to the homepage creating a cohesive feeling throughout the site. Below is the final design.
BankSupplies.com Resources home page HERO.
Featured Articles - Deposit Slips Explained, Counterfeit: Are you prepared?, and Check Security Features.
Browse By Topic: Currency Counters, Counterfeit Detection, Coin Supplies, Paper & Forms, and Catalogs.
All Resources with category tabs to sort through.

How the Resource Center Supports SEO
Expands Keyword Coverage: Product pages typically target transactional keywords. The Resource Center allows the brand to target informational searches, significantly broadening the BankSupplies search footprint.
How the Resource Center Builds Brand Credibility
Demonstrate Expertise: Providing educational content showcases industry knowledge beyond product sales. Customers see BankSupplies as a knowledgeable partner rather than simply a supplier.
Reduces Buyer Risk: Detailed educational resources help buyers feel confident in their decisions.
Improves Customer Experience: Visitors can find answers, guidance, and supporting materials in one location.
Reinforces Trust Through Utility: Resources such as catalogs, guides, and reference materials provide immediate value before a purchase occurs.

The BankSupplies Resource Center serves as more than a content library. It functions as a strategic SEO and authority-building asset.
